opening project from database is VERY slow

il I put even only one small projet in a database (.mpd format) with Project
2002 the following happens :
- the resulting file is big (more than 500K for 4 or 5 tasks
- opening the project is then very slow (several minutes)
Is it a known problem ? I have already installed SR1

I think the size is normal (there is intial overhead in creating all the
database stuff). Opening should not be that show. Is it slow to also
when opening with Microsoft Access?

There could be a number of reasons for slow response in MSP 2002 and it is a known problems. I found this acticle very useful to overcome some of the slow response. Please refer to the link below

When I open the database with Access, it opens normally (a few
seconds). The problems actually appears only with Project.
