Opening Project Pro from Edit Link in PWA

Using Project Server 2007 SP1 w/ July Infrastructure Update

I am not able to open a project plan from the PWA Project Center by clicking
on the Edit link. I get a window that says, "Project Pro is required...
contact administrator". I have Project Pro and can connect to the server
when I open it from the desktop. Is there a setting in PWA or Project Pro
that needs to be configured to make this happen.

TIA,
Brian

Your administrator should look at the settings for the group you are assigned
to. They may not have sign into Project Professional set to allow.

I just rechecked the group permission settings. I am in the adminstrators
group and all permisions are set to allow.

I can connect to the server and open a project plan by opening the Project
Pro client on the desktop, but not from the edit link in PWA.

In Project Professional 2007, make sure that the URL for your Project Server
instance is IDENTICAL to the URL you are using in PWA. That can cause the
problem you are having. Let us know if this helps.

Dale - URLs are identical and the problem is still occuring. It seems that
PWA does not know that I have Project Pro on my PC. I get the same window
pop-up when I try to open Project from "Open..." link the PWA Resource Center.

Any other suggestions?

Brian

No other suggestions from me. Perhaps the others have an idea for you.

I just ran "Microsoft Office Diagnostics..." from the Help menu in Project
Pro and it fixed this problem. Not quite sure what initially caused the
problem, since it did work at one time, but for now at least it's fixed.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
