Opening Pub 2000 files after upgrading to 2003

i have just upgraded to Office 2003. When I try to open a pub file created in
Publisher 2000 , the program crashes. When I start to open and select the
file I want from the list, it does not show in the file name box in the Open
Publication window. Is this question answered somewhere on this site? Thanks.

I had run Detect and Repair from the Help menu before I made this post.
After the post I decided to do an install from the original disc. There I
found another Detect and Repair option, so I ran it from the disc. Voila! I
have no idea why it worked from the disc and not the menu within the program,
but it did.

Just like the last upgrade, the old files have to be converted and can't be
reconverted, so do what you need to do to protect the old files--back them up
first and put them in a safe place so that you can convert the old files that
you need and still have a copy of the older version files in case you need it.

I have used Publisher since 98 or whatever came before 2000, and don't like
to upgrade, but... Anytime I have an odd problem with Publisher I try the
D&R feature and very often a reboot. Half the time one or the other or both
will slove the problem.

Thanks for the reply. I hope this helps someone.
