Opening quotation marks

I am unable to type opening quotation marks. They all come out as closing
quotation marks. This occurs with both double and single quotes. I have tried
playing around with the autocorrect (from straight lines to currly marks), to
symbols to trying to use the control functon key but nothing works. It would
appear to be a problem with the program? I am using courier (not new courier)
font.

For double quotes use CHAR(147). You can map a keystroke to this value if
you want to type the character without the function.
