Opening report generates error message

I have been using a Access 2000 database for seven years and all of a sudden
one of the reports doesn't work. The report lists 'transaction by time
period' which is very straightforward. Its underlying query asks for a
beginning date and an ending date and works just fine. The report which was
created using the report wizard returns an error window after the dates are
entered which says, "The expression is typed incorrectly, or it is too
complex to be evaluated...."

This problem is the same on numerous PC that are operating over a server
based network. The database is split and the problem is presenting itself on
independent front ends. I brought a copy of the file home and tried it on my
home PC and it worked correctly. Any thoughts? All help would be greatly
appreciated.

DMainland,

I would look at the Regional Settings for those machines and see what the
date format is. I would also check and see how the Users are entering the
dates.

Thank you for your reply and excellent suggestion. It turns out that the
data I was trying to report on was causing the problem because a field in one
record was null. The null value caused the problem. Thanks again!
