Opening/Saving Excel Shared Workbooks from Access

From Access using VBA, I am exporting records to several worksheets in an
Excel Template that I created and attempting to save the file in shared mode.
Everything works until I try to save the workbook in shared mode. I will
also need to import the data back into Access to update my table after it has
been updated. Is this possible with a shared workbook?

I didn't see another post about this topic and would appreciate any help on
this so that I can get started.
