opening word 2000 professional documents

Does anyone know how to change the setting that would stop
my Word documents to always open with a document 1 before
it opens the document I really want?

You can do this by adding a switch to the command line in a shortcut to
start Word. See Word's Help under "Control what happens when you start
Word." In this case, the switch you want is /n.
