We have a number of users who are on Office 2003 and a number on Office XP.
There are a number of files created in Word 2003 that when opened in Word
XP, open correctly but when you page down at some point the copy of Word
will freeze and then crashes out with the obligatory Do you want to tell
Microsoft message.

I have tried open and repair but that does not fix the problem.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks in advance

Have you tried setting the compatibility options on the documents to Word
2002 (XP)? There were some changes to tables in Word 2003 so it is possible
that is causing the problem.

Do you submit the error report? This will sometimes give you further
information, and even if it doesn't if you keep hitting the problem and keep
sending the report it will alert the developers and possibly lead to a fix.

Thank you for the response. However even with setting the compatibility
the problem persists.

Have now started sending the error message to our friends at MS to see what
happens.

Any further advice would be appreciated.

I'd suggest that this is possibly a printer driver issue. Are all the users
using the same printer and driver? It may be worth checking on the support
site to see that you have the latest driver.
