We have been using Office 2004 for a month or so. We have had no
problems, until now. We have an Word file, essentially a template, to which
we add text. We can add text and save with a new file name. When you
click on that new document, Word will constantly hang. Activity monitor says
that Word is hung. Very consistent behavior.
We can take that same document to another Mac. Exactly the same result.
When we take the document to a PC and run it through Advanced Word
Repair 1.1, AWR says that it fixed the document. The only errors reported
are: Add a text segment ... This "fixed" file seems to have all the text but it
has lost all of the formatting.
We downloaded another copy of our original template. We copied and
pasted some text from the "fixed" file into the new one. Same result after
working with it for a short time: opening it will hang Word.
What is corrupted about the Word file? Both Macs are completely current
with 10.3.5, all available Apple updates, and running NAV 9 current.
