Opening Word asks ? revert to saved

Every time a document is opened, Word asks do you want to revert to
saved. The documents of course are all saved. Is there a fix to this?

It only does that if you open a document that is already open. So this
fix is, if a document is already open, don't open it again. Of course,
sometimes Word is hidden and you're working in the Finder and you do
this without realizing it. But then the solution is just to ignore the
warning; you should reject the offer to revert to saved, because if you
do you'll lose any changes you may have made in Word in the meantime. m.

Hi Matt,

I am quite aware of that as normal behaviour. My problem is that I can
save, quit Word, relaunch Word, open the file; and it will still ask re
revert to saved. I might reinstall Office.

Good for you.

Well, as I just said, it only does that if you open a document that is
already open. So this suggests that the document *is* already open. The
question is why. You should try to find out. I suggest you proceed as if
a virus were in charge; at the very least, some template / add-in is
misbehaving. m.
