Opening Word Doc. from Attachment

I just installed the Office system on my computer, which has Windows XP and I
am unable to open an attachment in my email in Word. Does anyone know why
this could be happening? Also, when I go to close word or excel I get the
message, "The file Normal already exists. Do you want to replace the existing
file?" Did I miss a step in the setup process to make this happen? Thanks for
the help.

When you try to open the attachment what happens specifically? Do you
encounter an error message? If so, what is the exact error message?

As for your prompt to save Normal, are you certain you get this
message when you exit Excel? Normal.dot is a file only Word uses.
Typically this message indicates a third-party add-in is modifying
Normal.dot when you start Word so you didn't miss a setup process. For
additional information on finding the cause for the prompt take a look
