I originally posted this in the Word forum, but after some testing, I have found this an entourage issue, not a Word issue.
I am trying to make the transition from Windows to Mac for work (already use Mac at home). Today I created a word doc in Word for Mac 2008, with the latest updates. I saved it to a .doc instead of .docx, because I don't know what my customers are using.
I copied myself on the e-mail. When the e-mail went out, I tried to open the attachment, just to verify, and I can't because it says it won't open for security reasons???
It had a "click for more info" link on the error message, which I need, but the info was no help. It essentially said to save the doc as a docx!
What is going on here? I can't open a doc that I wrote myself just because I back-saved it in an old version? Will my customers be able to open this?
