Opening word docs

I have Word 2000 trying to open a file from a network
drive. When I open explorer and find the file and open
it, the file will not open. The error message states that
a required library is not loaded. Word opens but cannot
open the file. If I open Word first and then use File
Open to open the file, everything is fine. Any thoughts?

because the library that it is looking for is on your
local harddrive and so you are able to open it via
word>file open. The same library is not on your file
server.

Try and reregister Word in Windows. Use Start, Run and type in

winword /r

and press enter. That will reregister Word.
