Opening Word...File not available

Whenever I try to open a file created in Word, I get an
error message telling me that the File is not
Available...even though I can see it in the document
folder. Proceeding through MS support suggestions, I
downloaded and installed Word 2002 Support Template, to
troubleshoot the problem...but it won't open either,
giving me the same error "File SUPPORT"not available.
Any suggestions???

This may be the result of a conflict with the Norton Office Plug-in. See
"OFF: Cannot Open Office Documents or Cannot Edit Inserted Objects After You
Install Office XP Service Pack 2 or Office 2000 Service Pack 3" at

Thanks, Suzanne...that was the problem, and after
disabling the Norton AV Office Plug-in in the Registry,
all seems right with the world.
