I was sent a doc with .wpd formatting and when I open all I get is gibberish. What do I do?

Thanks.

Word cannot open native WordPerfect documents. You'll need to send it back to the person who sent it to you and ask them to re-save the document in a format that Word can read (doc or RTF would be good choices).

Ask the sender to save it as RTF. If that doesn't work check back...

See if you can find a copy of PC Word 97 or 2000. Older versions of PC Word
still have a WordPerfect filter.

However, you will get a better job if they Save As .doc or .rtf out of
WordPerfect, as the others have suggested.

Cheers

If this is likely to occur often and for whatever reason it isn't politic to
get them to save as .doc or .rtf, it may be worth investing in Dataviz's
MacLink Plus -- an excellent file converter.
