How do I open a wpd document in Word:mac 2004?

If you or the person who sent it to you have WP Save As RTF and Word can
open it.

If not, you need to run it through a program called MacLinkPLus.

It will preserve most but not necessarily all formatting.

Another possible option: If you have access to Word on a PC it may be able
to open the file. WP is still available for Windows so the PC version of
Word has retained some of the filters long ago discarded from the Mac
version. If PC Word can open it, Save As .doc & you should be in business.

In addition to Bob's comments: there are other word processors out there for
the Mac that can read WordPerfect files. Free options are NeoOffice and
AbiWord; paid-for options are Nisus Writer Pro and Nisus Writer Express.
