opening word

can somebody despaerately help me.

i have been using ms word from office 2003 sucessfully up
until last week when i noticed that anytime i tried to
open the application (because the other applications work
well), after 2seconds or so, the application just closed
on me.

when i say close on me, i mean, i see the document 1 page
and then it closes.its like opening the program and then
closing it but not in my control.

any good ideas....
