Opening Wordperfect Documents

Is there a way to open Wordperfect documents into Word for the Mac?
My partner has a PC, and using his version of Word he is able to open
Wordperfect documents. This feature doesn't seem to be available for
the Mac. Does Office 2004 offer it?

Currently I'm using Office v.X, and running Panther v.10.3.3 as my
operating system.

Thanks.

P.S. A detailed reply would be appreciated (us lawyers don't
understand the computer jargon).
