opening xl..!

hi

whenever i open either a new excel file or the existing one
it shows only the junk characters..!

instead if i open thru "open with" dialog it is ok..!

what's the problem and how can i repair that..?

any hlp?

If you're opening the file by double clicking on it in windows explorer, then
maybe you're not using excel to open that file.

Try reregistering excel.

Close Excel and
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /unregserver
then
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /regserver

The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets some of the windows registry to
excel's factory defaults.
