opening .xlsx and .docx files

I have clients using Office Pro 2007 and I cannot open their files with Office 2004 for mac.Will office 2008 open these files?

Yes.

The "x" files (.docx, .xlsx, etc.) are the native/default format for both Office 2007 (Windows) and for Office 2009 (Mac).
