Openning Old version Word

Hi!
I have attempted to open a file that was created in an eariler version of
Word, but the file is blocked from opening by registry policy setting. How
can I change this setting to open this file. This file created 1996. I use
Microsoft Word 2007 and Windows 7.

Office 2007 and Office 2003 SP3 intentionally do not open documents from
certain
older versions without special treatment. See
