Hey a friend of mine just sent me an OpenOffice text file labelled with and
ODT file extension. I'm currently using Office Suite 2k, any suggestions on
how I can import the doc into somthing viewable by me? Any help is
appreciated!

I believe only OpenOffice can open OpenOffice Files - but it can save them
as Word files so you'll need to have a copy of OpenOffice - you can download
one but I think it's a bit hefty if you're on dialup - or you could ask your
friend to make you a copy as a Word file.
