operation can not be performed because connection to server is off

Installed Outlook 2007, now connection to server will not work..error message
says connection to server is offline, server is fine, error code does not let
me connect.
Any suggestions?

Which mail account type are you using?
Send/receive issues are often caused by having a virus scanner installed
which integrates itself with Outlook. Disable/uninstall this integration and
try again.
