operation failed sending email outlook 2003

I can seem to run outlook 2003. Had troubles from the beginning and than
ignored them and switched to OE, but now have a treo and need to switch back
to outlook. Test worked but when I try to send emails I get 'Operation
failed. An object could not be found.
