Using Outlook 2003; getting timed out when receiving, even at a 10 min.
setting. Didn't have a problem until a week ago. Tried downloading updates
from Norton, but it didn't work.
I tried doing an email account test but it failed and said to check the port
numbers with ISP (Comcast). Called, changed the port numbers (SSL) but it
didn't work. Someone else here suggested disabling the Norton scanner and I
will try that, but does anyone else have Comcast and can tell me what your
port numbers say? To check that, go into Tools, E-Mail Account, click on
"View or change existing email accounts", Next, highlight the account, click
"Change", More Settings, then Advanced. I was at 110 for incoming, and 25 for
outgoing and Comcast had me change outgoing to 587.
Thanks, Jo
