oplocks and caching

using xp with access2003 on a peer to peer nextwork.
should I turn off caching in all machines to ensure all buffers get flushed?
do I have to worry about oplocks setting or does that only a problem if u r
using server 2003

I have set on the peer to peer option in xp windows setup. what does this do?
is caching turned off automatically on 'mapped' drives
