optimizing images for PowerPoint

I once read a tutorial about how to optimize images before inserting them
into a PP presentation but no longer recall the URL. I recall that even then
it was hard to figure out.

For a standard PP presentation that will be projected onto a screen with a
digital projector (not my own, the one at the various sites where I will
be), how do I resize full screen images in my graphic editor?

Reduce size to what size? Reduce resolution or pixels per inch to what,
etc.?

EASY

if projector projects at
1024x768 Pixels

and your windows desktop resolution is at
1024x768 pixels

then size your images to
1024x768 pixels

forget DPI

That easy? Wow. Not to worry about canvas size of image or anything?

One more question: my windows desktop is actually 1600x1200 but I suspect
most projectors I will find where I lecture will only project at 1024x768
(right?), should I then go with 1600x1200 or 1024x768?

You *can* worry about it if it makes you happy, but there's no *need* to
worry
about it. ;-)


The latter. The projector is usually the limiting factor. Set the
computer to
match it and you're good to go
