Option Buttons in Mac Word 2004

Can anyone help me? I understand that Mac Word 2004 uses HTML Option
Buttons - but these do not work the same as regular Option Buttons do
in the PC version.

I am creating a form that must be used by both MAC and PC users. The
checkboxes and other control functions work cross platform, but there
are no Option Buttons in the Mac 2004 vs of Word. The HTML Option
Buttons are not the same thing and do not function the same.

Is there a way of setting the controls to these MAC HTML Option
Buttons that will allow me to click either one or another directly
when used in a protected form?
