Option Buttons

I am new to infopath and am trying to create a document wherby staff
abilities in certain areas can be scored. I have set up a document from
scratch so that i can have my own source data so that when i pull information
into excel it is easier to see the fields (im assuming this is correct - if
not please let me know :))

The issue i am having is i have 3 different tables in this document with 9
questions in one, 4 in another and 2 in the last. Each of these questions has
an answer based from 1-5, NA,NC and NS (work related:)) and i have set up
option buttons for each of these. I have given them whole number properties
but i want them all to have the value of 1 when they are picked as its just a
counting measure not an actual value. The problem arises when there has to be
an overview table at the top for management to see and here we have a 4th
table that pulls the the total number of 1's picked, total number of 2's
picked etc etc as an overview of each of the 3 sections.

I am having the problem whereby i want each option button to have the value
of 1 so that it will just add up the number picked but when i do this all
option buttons can be picked in one row and i cant add them up seperately (or
should i say ) i dont know how to add up the number of 1'spicked, 2's
picked,3's etc etc as they all come under one field OR if i have the option
buttons with a different field name i can add them up correctly but then all
options can be picked in the same row which i dont want. Is there a rule i
can set up to only allow one option button to be picked or is there something
i can do to add up the relevant option button under the relevant total box -
im going around in circles and im sorry for going on!!!!!

Thanks in advance
