Options - "Grand Total" ... Can I modify this?

Within an Excel Pivot table, you have the ability to turn off or on the
"Grand Total" as an option. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to modify the
"Grand Total" summary line without;

(1) impacting the calculation being performed in the data fields
(2) writing VBA code

Example:
The data within the data field column displays the SUM of the hours_worked
by for employees but the Grand Total line has been modify to display the AVG
hours_worked.
