Options Hidden After Opening Doc.

When I open an existing document (.doc) and select
Tools/Options, the Word incon flashes in the Task Bar, but
the Options does not appear on top. If I hit Alt/Tab
twice then Options appear. Once this is done, I can open
more doucments and select Options and Options pop right
up. If I am creating a new document and select Options it
pops right up. Once Word is closed and an existing
document is opened for the first time, the Options will
not appear without hitting Alt/Tab twice. I repaired and
re-installed Office without success. How can I correct
this? Help appreciated. Bill
