Order of files displayed with File Open

G

Gary Elsner

It used to be when I used Word and did File / Open, it
would display the file names in My Documents
alphebatically. That was great. Now for some reason it
doesn't do that any more. They seemed to be displayed by
most recent date modified or something...sort of random
alphebatically which makes it nearly impossible to find
the file I want to open.

How can I change it back so that the file names are
displayed alphebatically?

Thanks very much,

/ Gary E.

Click on the heading "Name" in the File-Open menu. You will now see a small
triangle. Click on it to sort by name rather than by date. If the triangle
points up, you have sorted ascending (A to Z); if it points down, you have
sorted descending. You can sort by size, by document type, or by date also;
just note the location of the triangle.
