Ken,
As you mentioned, the sorting feature applies to the section following the summary. You can sort the tables in the summary by
exporting the report to RTF, loading the RTF document in Word and using Word's sorting feature. In detail:
1. Select "Database" > "Report..." from the main menu.
2. Select "Table Report" and press Finish.
3. Click on "Export to RTF..."
4. Provide some file name and click Save.
5. Start MS Word 2003 and open the RTF document.
6. Click once somewhere on the table of Tables in the Database summary section.
7. Select "Table" > "Select " > "Table" from the main menu. This should select the entire table.
8. Select "Table" > "Sort" from the main menu.
9. The defaults in the Sort dialog should be correct. If not, tweak them as appropriate.
10. Click OK.
Hope this helps,

Subject: Order of items in database table report
Date: Thu, 13 May 2004 02:44:38 -0700
Hi,
I have generated a table report in Visio. I have asked for
the sort to be by physical table name. However, the
initial database summary which lists the tables does not
list them in alphabetic order. The subsequent detailed
section orders just fine. Any hints please on how I can
get the table names in the database summary section sorted
correctly.
Cheers
