Ordering the custom properties

This is probably very simple but I am not a developer or coder or a power
user of visio.

I have defined 25 custom properties that I apply to a number of different
shapes and I want to make sure they always appear in the same order. This
order is just logical for ease of use when entering the data or reading it
back off the page.

At first it was all being sorted alphabetically so I tried numbering all the
fields but that can not cope with 10 and 1 or 10 and 01. I would like to drop
the numbering just for aesthetics.

The shapesheet section for custom properties has a sort order field for
doing that.

Thanks for the reply Al

Can a pick your brains further and ask if this is in the "master" shape on
the stencil and if I change it there it will flow to all the shapes in my
drawing ?

I have opened the shapesheet for the master but do not see it - again I am
probably being a bit thick

To answer the other question. The process that visio uses when you drop a
shape on the page is to first copy the master to the visio document, and
then copy 'the copy of the master' to the sheet. You can change 'the copy'
and have it update the instances in the document, changing the master in the
stencil does not update the document.
