Org Chart 2003 and Layers

The output of creating thousands of Org Chart illustrations will be a .pdf
document. Currently Adobe Acrobat supports layers for importing Visio 2003
files.

I currently produce two version of each diagram: one in black-and-white (for
b&w printing) and one with color coded boxes. I would like to create a
drawing with the color information on the second layer so it can be turned on
or off in Acrobat to reduce the number of pages needed for the project.

If I create an object on a second layer and align it on top of the B&W
object the Org chart program tries to make the Layer 2 object a sub-ordinate
of the layer 1 object.

How can I turn the auto-sub-ordinate-linking function off? I would like to
retain alignment capability either layer 1/2 to grid or layer 1 to layer 2.

The "drop-on" behavior in the Org chart solution does not consider layers.
It simply checks to see if the center of the shape being dropped is within
the bounding box of any other shape on the page. I don't believe that we
ever provided a way to turn off the "drop-on" behavior either.

I think that your best bet is to use separate pages. You can make the second
page a synchronized copy of the first so you won't have to recreate the
organization structure - just reformat it to be color coded.
