Org Chart in PPT 2000

I am using Office 2000 on Windows XP Home and I have run into the problem
described in Q218571. Unable to run MS Organizational Chart. Q218571
describes how to work around for NT & 2000, but not XP. I cannot share the
c:\windows folder, therefore I am wondering if there is a work around other
than making the user admin level.

Thanks for the response.

Unfortunately, using Windows XP Home I cannot make that change. When
selecting Sharing and security in the explorer window for C:\Windows, the
options to share are grayed out because "that folder is used by the
operating system". Without sharing the folder, I cannot assign users read &
write privledges to the specific files that need to be shared. Hence my
original question.

FAQppp23 only references Windows NT and Windows 2000 and does not reference
Windows XP. It seems that Windows XP only provides two user types,
administrator and limited, with no options for customization.

Unless there is a way to handle users in XP in a similar manner to Win2k, I
am at a loss to apply the instructions found in FAQppp23 and Q218571.

That's where I am looking for help.
Thanks

Those are Windows admin. tasks that are not my forte. You might try the
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windowsxp.security_admin newsgroup.

So there is no way to configure PowerPoint/Org Chart to look to another
folder for these two files?

Thanks

I doubt it because PowerPoint will recreate them if it doesn't find them in the
Windows folder.
