Org Chart shapes drop off page

Hi all
I have created a large org chart in Visio 2003 SP2. I have used the shapes
in the standard org chart shape set. I started it using the Org Chart wizard
building from a spreadsheet and have continued to edit it, including adding
and removing positions and pages, adding shape names via right-click shape |
Format ... | Special ... | Name. I have also changed X & Y positions and
shape height and width manually thru Size & Position Window without any
problems. I've also used the Org Chart toolbar to change the layout several
times.

Then I suddenly between one position addition and another I found that my
added position sent the shape right off both the drawing and printed page!
All attempts to move the shape by mouse or setting the X & Y positioning
manually just sent the futher into the negative position territory! Using
relayout sent all the position shapes off the page! (Manager stayed put)

After several frustrating hours and more than one expletive I found that I
could get around the problem by deleting the connectors and readding
dotted-line reports, but then the Org Chart relayout, horizontal and vertical
layout buttons no longer work and I have to layout manually. Ok, no problem
for me, but it is a problem when I have to hand the chart over to another
person.

I have searched groups and have found references to the presence of the
Guard() formula on in Shape Transform in the Shape Sheet may cause the issue.
All my shapes seem to have Guard() around Shape Transform LocPinX and
LocPinY. Taking out the Guard() doesn't seem to make any difference.

I am out of ideas and patience. Does anyone know what might be going on?

TIA
Sara

Thanks Mark, I tried all the suggestions in the blog. None fixed my problem,
I'm afraid. Fortunately, it only appears to be misbehaving on one page of my
40+ page document. I have already tried deleting the page and recreating it
from scratch and that didn't work either. So I am just going to document the
workaround and go with that.
Kind regards
Sara
