organising pictures in picture manager

when I down load pictures from my camera they seem to appear randomly and not
in the order they were taken. How can I organise them - simply - so that I
can view them in sequence.

Some cameras give the picutres a name that includes a number in the order
they're taken. Sort by the file name.
