Organize Sheet Tabs

I am using Excel as a customer sales and contact archive for my business. Each sheet holds a different clients communication and sales history. I have come to the point where I have a great many customers and therefor a great many sheets to go through each time I want to get to a particular client.

I thought at first I could set up hyperlinks in a directory to solve this but each time I entered a new sheet it made the directory's hyperlinks confused.

Is there a way:
1) To direct a hyperlink to a sheet no mater where in the workbook the sheet is at a given moment?

or 2) To make the sheet tabs display in multible levels so as to not have to scroll through 100 to get where I want to be?

Any further ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

How are you hyperlinking? Inserting a hyperlink via CMD-k or
Insert/Hyperlink... and using the sheet name as an anchor should work
without getting "confused" (e.g., using #Customer2!J7 as an anchor).
