Organize Using Colors - Not saving selections

I've used this feature for many years and am very familiar with it. All of a
sudden this week when I try to color code new messages it colors correctly in
the folder right away, but if I change folders and come back it's gone.

When I go back into Automatic Formatting the new rule did not save. My
original color code rules are still in there, it just wont let me add any new
ones. I only have 2 saved so I know it's not a problem of having too many.

If I try to change the criteria of the existing rules, that won't save either.

Help?

Here's what I'm doing:
Tools/Organize/Using Colors/Color Messages from (e-mail address removed) in BLUE/Apply
Color

It changes the emails from (e-mail address removed) BLUE, but if I close Outlook and open
again they're BLACK again.

Next I tried Tools/Organize/Using Colors/Automatic Formatting/Add/Condition/
From/[email protected] and set the font BLUE. This does not do anything, and when
I restart Outlook the "Rule for this view" I just created is gone. It's like
it's not saving anything?

Automatic formatting is views not rules - it sounds like the view is
corrupt. If you make a new view, does it work ok?

This is a sign that you may have some add-in that's not allowing Outlook to
close properly and savee your settings. Reboot your PC, then try starting
Outlook in safe mode (hold Ctrl when you start Outlook) to see if that changes
anything.

Thanks Brian,
I re-booted and started in Safe Mode and still not saving color choices.
The only add-ons I'm aware of are Business Contact Manager and Antivirus, but
Safe Mode prevented both of them from loading so I assume it prevented other
things I might not be aware of too.

What else can I try at this point? Like I said earlier, when I Apply Color
it DOES change the color of the email in the window immediately, but as soon
as I change folders and change back it's back to Black. It's definitely not
saving the new rule.

I'm stumped then. Sorry. Perhaps someone else will be able to suggest
something.

That worked! Lost a lot of settings (categories, calendar,...etc) and had
to copy over all my old emails...but color coding is working again.

Thanks!

Good news.
