organizer and keyboard shortcuts

I've followed the instructions to create a new Normal.dotm in Word
2008 and used the organizer to transfer over my auto texts and
toolbars etc from the old Normal. I am assuming I have to redo all my
own keyboard shortcuts in my new Normal doc because I can't see how to
do this in the organiser.

Is that so?

Yes, that's correct. Keyboard shortcuts, and any customisation you did to
the built-in toolbars cannot be transferred.

If you do a lot of customisation, make your own toolbars: you can transfer
toolbars you build yourself.

Cheers

If you'd like to read more on this topic, take a look at an article ('Why is
it best not to alter the default toolbars?') on page 46 of some notes on the
way I use Word for the Mac, titled "Bend Word to Your Will", which are
available as a free download from the Word MVPs' website
(http://word.mvps.org/Mac/Bend/BendWordToYourWill.html).

The notes don't yet cover Word 2008, but that's not a major problem.

[Note: "Bend Word to your will" is designed to be used electronically and
most subjects are self-contained dictionary-style entries. If you decide to
read more widely than the item I've referred to, it's important to read the
front end of the document -- especially pages 3 and 5 -- so you can select
some Word settings that will allow you to use the document effectively.]
