Organizing a database

Tanis Dimitrios

I am setting up a database in access 2003 (file format: Access 2000).
After creating the structure (tables, queries, etc) the database looks
messed up with all objects together.

Is there any way to organize tables in folders ????

any ideas?

PS I don't want to have to split my database.

You can't mess about with the tables pane in the database window, but you
can create new groups in the sidebar-thing on the left, and put shortcuts
to your favourite objects there. Look for help on "About ways to use the
Database window".

In any case, once your project is up and running, there should be no need
to mess about with tables anyway. All access to data should be happening in
queries and forms, and you can name these so that they group
alphabetically. For example, you could have your data entry forms begin
with "frm" and dialogs begin with "dlg" so that they sort together.

PS I don't want to have to split my database.
It won't make any difference to the question you have posted, but the truth
is that whatever you are doing with this database, you _do_ want to split
it.

Hope that helps

You have the ability to set up groups in the database window. I trust your
users never see your database window and the only reason to group objects is
to meet your own needs.
