OrgChart question. (most likely a simple yes or no)

Okay, I've tried every method I can think of, and I can't seem to get
this to work.

I have an excel sheet with a named range that I import into Visio 2007,
and then i link the sheet with the chart using the get external data
interface. I can change the data in excel and have it update in Visio
by refreshing, that's the easy part.

What I need to be able to do here is add new staff easily. I drag a
shape out, and then link the info from the get external data interface
to the shape by dragging and dropping, and the only thing that will
display is the name of the person, not the fields I defined as
displaying when I created the orgchart, (the name and the person's
title.) Is there any way to do this?

Hi Ryan,

You should look at the shapes to see exactly what data they have on them.
Go to View > Shape Data Window and then select a shape that you have already
linked to a row from the External Data window. What might be happening is
that there are two sets of fields. Perhaps they differ slightly in name.
For example, there is a Department field and a Dept field. If this is what
you see, I would right click on the column heading in the External Data
window and rename the column to the exact field name you see on the Org
Chart shapes.

It is also possible to get additional shape data fields to show up in the
Org Chart shapes. Go to Organization Chart > Options in the menu and click
the Fields tab. Then check off the fields to display. If you have already
linked a data row to one of the Org Chart shapes, the fields from the
External Data window should show up as options in the Options dialog.
