Orientation of Pad

Hi,

I am new to OneNote, so please excuse this question if it seems very
simple/stupid.

My question is: is there a way to take notes the way one would
normally do in OneNote (i.e. by swiveling the screen and putting the
laptop in your lap like a notepad), and still be able to orient (and
write on) the page horizontally?

I want to take notes in OneNote with the paper "long-ways" rather than
the more traditional form where its length > width. It seems that the
only way I can do this in OneNote is to open up the computer as usual,
and then fold the screen back. I don't like this, as it means my arm
has to be over the keyborad + its awkward. As soon as a I swivel the
screen, and bring the back of the screen nearly flush with the
keyboard, the horizontal screen "jumps" to being vertical.

TIA,

Matt B.

BTW, I did go into "page setup" under "File".

Under the standard template I was using, I could not choose between
"potrait" and "landscpae".
When I changed from the standard template, to a template where I could
choose, like B6, the color of the paper on the screen goes from white
to brown.

I think your issue is a tablet setting rather than a OneNote function. It's
tough to tell you how to correct it without knowing or being familiar with
your particular tablet brand/model.

I'm using an Asus RF1 which allows me to lock the display in landscape or
portrait regardless of the actual screen position. If the locking function is
not engaged, the display rotates based on the screen position; landscape when
in notebook position and portrait when in tablet position.

Maybe there's a similar function on your tablet...

Thanks Scott,

At least I know it's probably not some simple function I just over-
looked. I'll let my IT people deal with it now.

OK, for my machine (which is an HP), the soln to this problem was
easy. There is a small (no make that miniscule) pinpoint button on the
back of the computer that you can only activate with the stylus. Push
that button and it toggles between landscape and portrait.
