Osa 9 not responding

I have Office 2000 Premium edition running on Windows 98SE.
When I try to open a new document via the Start/open new document button,
nothing happens after I select Word Document.
When I do ctrl/alt/del I see a message Osa 9 (Not responding), and think
this must be the problem.
This has only just started in the past few days, anyone have any ideas or
suggestions how to fix it please?

mary: original posting -- and i -- ask "anyone have any ideas or suggestions
how to fix it please?" this reply provides nothing at all for fixing the
problem.
