OSX + WordX + hp1200 prints NOT

i have looked @ multiple threads related to WordX not printing
envelopes. while i have that problem, it is the least of my problems.

here's the setup: WordX release 1 under OS 10.2.1, print center v 2.0,
to hp laser jet 1200 (error: undefined, offending command: csq).

what i cannot do is print more than 1 copy from any opened doc. put in
20 or 2, all i ever get is 1. the old work around was to just keep
hitting the print command until i got the desired # of copies. now, i
get one copy and that's it. open another doc, can't get any copies to
print. close wordX and reopen, still can't print. reboot system. get
one copy. that's it. done.

under Word9.x & classic, i can print all day, any # of copies.

i reinstalled the hp1200 priniter drivers. no change. my old
workaround was to always work in OS9.x because from the git-go, wordX
and hp1200 have not worked. now that i've mostly moved to OSX, the
problem is vexing, again.

i'm not interested in solving the envelope problem (yet!!!)

all suggestions, points, clues & leads appreciated.

Hi tb,

The envelope printing problem is an issue for many (too many!) people. What
you've described is not, which leads me to think it's a problem within your
system. Have you updated Office to at least 10.1.2, if not 10.1.4?

Why are you still in OS 10.2.1? There were printer problems from the
beginning of Jaguar that were addressed by Apple in later OS updates. Check
Software Update for the latest OS version.

In Page Setup, have you experimented with setting Word to print to Any
Printer?

You say you reinstalled the printer driver. Are you sure it was the most
recent one?

Have you run Repair Permissions? Go to Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities.
Open up Disk Utility. Select your hard disk, then click the First Aid tab.
Click the button to "Repair Disk Permissions".

Hope something here helps.

I have updates 10.1.2 & .3 &.4. I don't think they have been
installed, otherwise I don't think word would show release 1. Guess
I'm just update shy!!

Well , once upon a time, long, long ago, I was up to 10.2.5 or maybe
even .6, but had multiple problems with the mail and sherlock & other
apps, and based on apple tech recommendation, reinstalled the original
system. Solved most (but not every) stability problem, but wiped out
a bunch of stuff.

No, but I'll try.

Yeah, multiple times in the past. Doesn't seem to have any effect on
this problem.

I'll try the updates, then look for HP drivers (again). And last, the
incremental OS updates.

Thanx for the leads.
