OT - Animated GIFs not working

L

Larry

On 2 of my sites I have just noticed that none of the animated gifs that
are animated. They show the initial static image.. They are on different
servers so it should not be a server problem but I can't figure out what
is causing the problem. Previewing the pages in browser locally displays
the pages correctly.
Links:
1) Server 1 http://www3.sympatico.ca/paxman/humour/humour.html
2) Server 2 http://netsurfer007.tripod.com/humour/humour.html

If someone previews either of the above pages please let me know if the
images shown are animated [it will be obvious]. If they are then it may
be a local broswer problem somehow. Anyone have any idea why this may
occurr?

Thanx
Larry

Work fine here. Check your browser settings.
On the IE toolbar, click Tools > Options ( or internet options ) click the advanced tab, scroll down
to multimedia and make sure
"Play animations in web pages" is checked.

Your firewall could be blocking "animations" - i.e. you've set it to block
animated advertisements, so some firewalls might take an aggressive approach and
block all animated objects - flash, gif animations - since advertisements can be
any of these - and it can't determine your legit ones from the advertisements.

Hi Andrew

Yep the firewall was the culprit. Fixed. Thanx
