Select from the Menubar,

Tools, Database Utilities, Convert Database, To Access 2002 - 2003 File
Format...

Most well designed and fully compiled Access 97 files should convert with
very few problems.

I would recommend that you ensure that it is successfully compiled in Access
97 before the conversion.

Note: If you open the database using Access 2003 it will prompt you to
convert it, if it was previously opened in Access 2003 it may not offer this
anymore in which case the above menu item will do it for you.

The above assumes this is in MDB format and not MDE. If your file is in MDE
format there is nothing that can be done, you will need the MDB file that
the MDE file was created from.
