[OT] how create offical letter head in MS Word?

P

Peter

Hi Jay, they're good pages. Thanks!

I could only see info about letterhead which is in the form of some
separate text. There was also info about logos and photos but nothing
about the sort of layout shown in my link. http://is.gd/1HRuC

I wasn't sure if I had to create that design in Photoshop as a full page
graphic and then make it into an overlay or watermark.

I don't see which method is the best to investigate. Do you have any
other pointers?

Thank you.

The sort of layout shown in your link is just a minor extension of the logo
layout in Suzanne Barnhill's article. That sort of design is usually created
with two or more pieces of artwork -- in your example, one graphic at the top
and another at the bottom -- rather than a single piece covering the whole page.
The pieces can be inserted into the header and footer (usually the first-page
h&f when "Different first page" is turned on).

As an example, download the template at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC102580331033.aspx?CategoryID=CT101043261033
and examine its graphics.

You can make your graphics in any suitable program, including PhotoShop,
Paint.Net, or MS Paint, and save it in any file format that Word can insert in a
document (.jpg, .gif, etc.).
