The Messenger newsgroup doesn't seem to be active.

I Installed Office for Mac and can't log on to messenger?

I signed up for .net passport and that's fine when I try and log on to
Messenger it says I can't until my email is verified.

1. go to inbox click this message blah blah blah

It never sends an email? Any ideas?

It sounds to me like you may not have correctly completed the sign-up to
Passport.

Some people get issues with this from the Mac. I just checked it with
Safari on OS X and it's working fine for me, but others have reported
problems.

Go to http://www.passport.net/Consumer/Default.asp?lc=1033

Log in and inspect your details: see if you can spot the problem.

Cheers

Here's why I don't think that is the problem. I can log into passport
fine and even went through the change password scenario just to see if
they eMailed me. It worked fine.

When I try and logon to Messenger the confirmation email never arrives.

Yeah, I just had a similar problem myself. The site I was trying to access
had an out-dated email address for me, and would not accept the Passport
sign-on.

I emailed Microsoft (it was a Microsoft site) and they sorted it out
overnight for me.

The other thing that might be doing it is that the anti-spam filter on your
email might be "eating" the confirmation email. There's quite a bit of that
happening these days.

Regrettably, I have no better answers for you.

Cheers

I've been looking for a link to eMail them and have had no luck. Do you
remember the link?

Thought of that too and went to Earthlink web mail fo make sure it
wasn't trashed, nothing.

Yes, I do remember the email address, but you can't use it because it was
for the site owner, as opposed to Passport. In my case, the site owner's
database would not update correctly.

You could try the following URL:
http://register.passport.net/contactus.srf?lc=1033
